How we support Ukrainian families (September)

ukr

Currently, Terre des hommes Foundation provides social assistance either individually or in partnership with residential centers for refugees in Bucharest.

Our activities fall under the category of psychosocial support, that is, the support that people receive to protect their mental balance and psychosocial well-being. Our teams thus help Ukrainian families to connect with the Romanian community, also providing them with the means to face practical problems and to alleviate the suffering caused by war and displacing.

Our mobile teams organize (especially for Ukrainian children) games that develop motor skills and creativity, as well as:

- help children to trust their own ideas

-develop imaginative thinking

-increase self-esteem

-train the team spirit

-develop communication, cooperation and integration skills

So far, from March 2022 to September, we have supported almost 11,000 beneficiaries (adults and children). The centers where we are present now (in Bucharest) are the following: Robin Hood, Gara de Nord, Lacul Tei, Ienachiță Văcărescu, Ferdinand School, Energy College, General School no. 6, Siqua House, Dinicu Golescu center, Lacul Tei, Edmund Nicolau, Căminul SNSPA (Henri Coandă), FCSB.

Project implemented by Terre des hommes Romania with the financial support of the Crisis and Support Center of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, City of Zurich, Z Zurich Foundation, Swiss Solidarity and UNHCR (UN Refugee Agency).

We will soon start the activities in Brasov and Constanta!
