Yesterday was a busy day at Terre des hommes Romania. We made sure that 150 children and adults from Ukraine have an unforgettable party.
On February 24, Russia launched its armed invasion of Ukraine. Ten months have passed and the war does not seem to end anytime soon. Since then, millions of people, adults and children, have fled the war. For all of us, this year's Christmas is the first away from home. As protectors of children's rights, Terre des hommes Romania team joined forces for 150 Ukrainian children and adults to have an unforgettable party.
We believe that such events unite and heal, and children should feel the magic of the winter holidays wherever they are.
Hours of play, workshops with focus on mental health and psychosocial support, as well as dancing and good atmosphere were experienced by children and adults alike. Although they are far from home, the children managed to create an atmosphere of celebration and make those around them happy through carols and poems in Ukrainian.
