ROLE DESCRIPTION

Terre des hommes Foundation in Hungary is looking for a Technical Advisor to work on various projects within the Access to Justice (A2J) project portfolio such as the PROMISE 3 project led by the Council of Baltic Sea States (CBSS), the i-Restore 2 project (led by Tdh Romania), CLEAR-Rights and i-ACCESS My Rights(led by Tdh Hungary) and to provide technical support and guidance to all Access to Justice projects in Europe in order to help the stable implementation and further development of the A2J Programme.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The Regional Technical Advisor is responsible for supporting the Access to Justice Programme at all levels (regional, sub-regional, national, and local levels). S/he is responsible for ensuring the respect for policies, regulations, and processes in force in the Foundation in all the operational activities deployed by the collaborators. S/he will contribute to the development and support the implementation of the strategy of the programme at the level of his/her region as well as in all areas of intervention within the region, respecting the principles of Strategic alignment with the overall program, geographic context, complementarity, collegiality, transparency, and efficiency.

YOUR PROFILE

Education:

Minimum Master’s degree in Law from an accredited educational institution

        Knowledge and experience:

•     5+ years of practical experience within the area of expertise

•     Good knowledge of networks active in the field of Access to Justice or in child   protection

•     Expertise in programme support and providing technical guidance, including the development, operational  implementation

•    Coordination, monitoring / evaluation and capitalization / documentation

•    Knowledge of and familiarity with international and national conventions, legislation, policies and strategies relating to juvenile justice

•    Knowledge of alternatives to detention and restorative justice principles

Proven experience in successfully managing regional and/or multi-country projects with a level of complexity

Languages:

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Knowledge of a language of the region is an asset but not a requirement (Serbian/Croatian/Bosnian; Albanian; Russian; Ukrainian; Bulgarian; Romanian, Hungarian)
